COMIT converged network management solution (NMS) provides all the activities, methods, procedures, and tools that pertain to the operation, administration, maintenance, and provisioning of the converged TDM and IP network, all within a single NMS.
The COMIT network management function monitors the network 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and periodically polls and collects inventory and performance-monitoring data from the managed devices in the network. COMIT's NMS provides:
- IP packet monitoring that allows for billing by packet type and provides employee web usage reports
- IP alarm monitoring that monitors network firewall, LAN/switch, Class 5 switch, and server log files in real time
- IP alarm management that combines admin-defined rules-based systems with analytical models
- IP server security, using SNMP to monitor devices and operating systems
- IP traffic security that monitors for rogue IPs or MACs and provides constant IP add scans
COMIT allows IT managers to:
