COMIT's alarm monitoring combines real-time admin-defined rules-based searches to automate the identification of alarms instantly and notify managers of events. Network management information is collected through the following methods, based on user requirements: agents installed in the infrastructure; rules-based agent searching for significant events after activity has been logged; packet sniffers that include DPI (deep packet inspection); and the collection and processing of Cisco NetFlow transactions.
